Santa Monica is a coastal city in West LA that neighbors Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Mar Vista, and Venice with a diverse population of an estimated 91 thousand residents. It is a lively city by beautiful beaches and endless attractions that entertain tourists and locals alike. There is never a dull moment in this city, no matter what your interests are. Take a walk on the popular 3rd Street Promenade where you’ll be able to watch talented street performers dance, sing, play instruments, do magic; go shopping in the newly built Santa Monica Place mall; take a dip in the ocean at the beach; try a new food whether it be Japanese, Indian, Italian, German, and so on; do yoga; paint; etc. Nightlife is just as exciting. A car is hardly necessary to get to where you want to go here.
Santa Monica is home to executives and Hollywood celebrities and it is a mixture of very affluent, single-family neighborhoods, renters drawn by the high quality of life, lifelong surfers, young professionals and students. The 2011 Santa Monica Resident Satisfaction Survey, which demonstrates the city’s key demographics, found that a near 94% of those surveyed believe that their city is a “pretty good” or “excellent” place to live. 74% are also satisfied with the work the city is doing in providing city services.
